Unique Horse Coat Colors & Patterns |
Buckskin or Dun MareI'm actually not certain what color this mare actually is genetically. The typical dappling patterning is present, and the base color at least, appears to be buckskin. However, Although the face seems to be going "grey", this mare actually shows no white hairs, outside of her white markings
Note also the fact that her lower legs are actually a dark chocolate brown, and not black. The mane and tail are also mostly this color although some of the hairs seemed to come nearer to black than on the legs.
I've presented here, a selection of pictures of this mare, to show some various views of her patterning. Please click on the preview pictures for a larger close-up version.
